Safety Administrative Assistant

Responsibilities:
Monitor and analyze data such as safety inspections, SDS program, LOTO program etc.
Perform safety audits and inspections as directed by the HR/Safety Supervisor.
Assist with investigation of safety incidents and injuries.
Promote and ensure health and wellness through education and training.
Coordinate committee and department meetings.
Educate and communicate safety to employees through group meetings, conferences, orientations, etc.
Follow MFI Safety Policies as well as OSHA, DOT, DEQ, etc.
regulations to enforce safe work practices.
Compiles data and generates reports by entering data into computer, determining information to include in reports, verifying data and distributing reports to appropriate parties.
Participates on safety teams as a leader, action item owner, meeting scribe as needed or assignedProvide clerical support to the HR/Safety SupervisorMaintain the training records databaseEnsure training files are up-to-date for all employeesInventory and order safety suppliesPerform other duties of a similar nature or level.
Adhere to safe work practices, follow GMP's, maintain sanitary conditions and ensure that product quality is maintained.
Report to management any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality or personnel safety.
Assist with Food Safety and Food Quality Programs.
SKILL AND ABILITIES:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and a strong attention to detail.
Prefer a minimum of 2 years' experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience (i.
e.
general safety, HR, business, etc.
).
Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Access, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
Ability to work well with all levels (be a team player).
Ability to solve fairly complex problems and manage multiple tasks.
Ability to obtain OSHA 10-Hour certification within 90 days of employmentAbility to obtain a Certification in First Aid/CPR/AED or First Responder within 180 days of employment.
Ability to facilitate meetings and provide training to all levels of employee.
Must be willing to work flexible hours and shifts as neededMust be willing to attend off-site training.
Presentation & Facilitator Skills - will be speaking in front of groups/meetingsMust have the ability to work independently, establish priorities and accomplish objectives with minimal supervisionDemonstrates the ability to maintain positive interpersonal relationships and work effectively with others to complete work assignments.
